A Great Day Farm
At Joy Collaborative, we believe that beautiful, sensory-conscious spaces have the power to transform lives—especially for those with unique needs. Our newest Joy Room will be created at A Great Day Farm, a remarkable haven where people with disabilities can connect with nature, grow skills, and truly thrive.

This project is more than a renovation—it’s a partnership between Joy Collaborative, generous local donors, skilled tradespeople, and caring community members. Together, we’ll design and build spaces that are both aesthetically stunning and purposefully inclusive, ensuring they meet the sensory, safety, and accessibility needs of the farm’s visitors.
The Vision
The owners of A Great Day Farm are working toward a lasting legacy: a fully inclusive space open to the public. By combining the farm’s welcoming atmosphere with Joy Collaborative’s expertise in sensory-friendly design, this Joy Room will become a place of comfort, creativity, and connection for people of all abilities.

With the help of ASID designers and committed industry partners—including California Closets, Robinson Lighting, and Intersource Flooring—we’ll bring new life to key areas of the farm:
-
Level 1: A transformed sun porch with insulation, new windows, acoustical enhancements, fresh flooring, wall treatments, and inviting furniture—blending beauty with functionality.
-
Level 2: Acoustic upgrades, lighting improvements, fresh paint, flexible storage, and an adaptive pulley system for swings—maximizing comfort and versatility.
-
Level 3 (Future Vision): Accessibility upgrades for play structures and new nature-based play areas for adults with complex needs.

When complete—this Joy Room will enhance the farm’s ability to host adaptive biking, gardening, and other inclusive activities. Visitors will experience a space designed not just for their needs, but for their joy.
Every detail will reflect what makes Joy Rooms special: thoughtful design, sensory sensitivity, and the belief that everyone deserves a place where they feel seen, safe, and celebrated.
